EDA issued a statement following the announcement on 22 April that exceptional measures would finally be opened by the EU Commission to support the dairy sector in Europe.

We are grateful to EU Commissioner Janusz Wojciechowski for this first step as the COVID-19 induced crisis has the potential to become the biggest dairy crisis in decades.

Swift action is needed! We ask the EU Commission to implement Wednesday’s proposals immediately.
