EDA comments on draft DG SANTE implementing act on rules for voluntary origin labelling

EDA in principle welcomes the new version of the draft Implementing Regulation on rules for voluntary origin labelling (version published for public consultation from 4 January - 1 February 2018), especially because trademarks and geographical indications will not be covered by the scope of the Regulation. We believe that this is a step in the right direction, showing the EU continues to maintain protection of the intellectual property of the European companies, as well as the EU quality schemes...
